Family Corvidae. Jays ravens, crows, magpies, nutcrackers and their
allies. Corvus corax. The raven. As I paint this the ravens are flying
overhead maybe searching for the dead squirrel I hid for them this
morning maybe they are heading for the little pond to take a bath or
get a cool drink. You big bold beautiful bird with your powerful
black bill, your purple blue black glistening wings your long crazy
croaking call
Do you have any idea how much I love to see you?
It was you who woke me up this day with your rough croaks and happy
bell ringing calls. Your brilliant friendly bird calling your
friends in to share your food. My heart is big loving you every time
I’m riding my bike or in my car I constantly look for dead animals
to bring home for you By night I read books about you Sleeping I
dream of you.
